Marshals sweep weekend with win at Wayne County Invitational

The Marshals backed up their Saturday win in the Hopkins County Central Invitational with another win on Sunday at the Wayne County Invitational. For the third time this season, the Marshals dipped below 300 for the win with a team score of 298 at Monticello Country Club.

Somerset High School senior, Kannon Tucker, won the tournament with a 2-under par 69, edging out Jay Nimmo and Estill County’s Andrew Elam who both finished one stroke back with 1-under 70’s.

Estill County placed second with 303 and Somerset placed third with a team score of 310.

Behind Nimmo’s 70, Marshall County scoring came from Preston Futrell with 74, Camdyn McLeod shot 76, David Jack Morris 78 and Trey Wall 81.

The Marshals will play a match against Murray today at Calvert City Country Club then host the Marshall County Invitational this Saturday at Calvert City Country Club.
