TVARA Western Area Chapter donates to Marshall County Caring Needline

A second $1,000 donation was made to Marshall County Caring Needline by TVA retirees and BVI volunteers on August 21. TVA retirees and BVI Volunteers Bruce and Renee Turnbow presents a second $1,000 check from the Western Area Chapter of the TVA Retirees Association to Doug Moore, Chairman, and Becky Cornwell, Director of the Marshall County Caring Needline on Friday, August 21, 2020 to help offset their expenses during the ongoing pandemic.

The Western Area Chapter has given a total of $10,000 from BVI to distribute.  The Chapter is made up of members from mainly five area counties: Marshall County, Calloway County and Trigg County in Kentucky and Henry County and Steward County in Tennessee and the donations were divided  among them.

This money was made available through a grant from the Bicentennial Volunteers Inc.(BVI). BVI is a non profit organization for TVA retirees. Through BVI, volunteers can get involved in a variety of activities including volunteer work, TVA contract work, and FEMA relief.

On May 19, the first $1,0o0 donation was made to Marshall County Caring Needline from TVARA Western Area Chapter.
