MURRAY-CALLOWAY COUNTY HOSPITAL ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF KEITH TRAVIS, CHIEF PHILANTHROPY OFFICER
MURRAY, KY – Keith Travis has served in various roles since beginning at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in 2004.
Prior to serving the Foundation, Keith was the Vice President for Human Resources of MCCH for several years. His skill set led him to serve as the hospital’s chief physician recruiter and in 2007, he helped begin Murray Medical Associates.
“As the year’s passed, Keith played a vital role by recruiting many of our current physicians to the medical staff. Transitioning full time to the Murray-Calloway Endowment for Healthcare, now called the Foundation, Keith was a large part of the successful multi-million dollar
fund-raising effort that allowed MCCH to build the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House,” said Jerry Penner, CEO at MCCH.
Keith was the backbone behind several other start up efforts that included our annual golf tournament and the Murray Half Marathon that has become a favorite event in our community.
“Keith’s drive helped us with the highly successful Music and Memory Program at Spring Creek in honor of Jan Weaver along with multiple other annual and philanthropic events that supported our hospital team, their families and this community on behalf of MCCH. Additionally, Keith and I flipped hundreds of hamburgers and hot dogs during our Spring and Fall employee events and could always be counted on to make our Employee Pancake Breakfasts a success,” said Jerry Penner, CEO at MCCH.
Keith has been married to his wife, Joan for 42 years. They have one son, James, who is a CPA. They also have a daughter, Julia, who is an Internal Medicine physician in Marshall County. In addition, they have three grandchildren, Addison, 14, Austin, 11, and Avery, 8.
During his retirement, Keith plans to travel with his family in their RV, and is looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren.
Keith’s retirement celebration will take place at a later date to be announced.
