Virginia “Diana” Denton, age 67 of Gilbertsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 12th at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah of natural causes.
She was born March 10, 1953 in Henderson, Kentucky the daughter of the late Bert and Margaret Cates Sheffer.
She was a traveling nurse and loved the lake and ocean.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Marshall Denton (1992). She is survived by her son Scott Denton (Jill) of Gilbertsville; Stephanie King that she loved as a daughter; four brothers Bert Sheffer Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Billy Wortman of Chicago, Illinois, Steve Wortman of Chicago, Illinois and Michael McGaha of Henderson, Kentucky and two sisters Lisa Wortman and Candace Pippen both of Henderson, Kentucky.
The family chose cremation. There will be no service at this time, but the family is planning on having a Celebration of Life on a later date.
