James “Jim” Simpson, 74 of Benton, KY died on Saturday, August 8, 2020.
Born Thursday, November 1, 1945 in Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late James C. Simpson and the late Dorothy (Perry) Simpson. He was a veteran of t he US Navy during Vietnam and a car detailer. He was a member of Family Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Ireland) Simpson of Benton, KY; son, Chris Simpson wife Melinda of White House, TN; step children, Christie Theaux of Lafayette, LA, Kenneth Vincent of Princeton, KY; sisters, Joyce Noel of Kirksey, KY, Cynthia Bodkin of Beverly, WV, Connie Raines of Nunnelly, TN; grandchildren, Heather Simpson of Waverly, TN, J.C. Simpson of White House, TN; six step grandchildren, Brett, Christian, Ryker, Kayden, Allie, Kenslee; and three great grandchildren, Brendan, Jordan and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold Simpson.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Family Church of Christ, Located at 300 Carol Rd, Benton, Kentucky 42025. Edwin Donohoo and Leo McKinley will be officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
