Dixie Boatright, 82

Dixie Lou Boatright, 82, of Benton, KY passed away on August 5, 2020 at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Dixie was born in the Land Between the Lakes area of Lyon County, KY on September 22, 1937 to the late John Boatright and Minnie L. Bridges Boatright. She worked as a factory worker for The Glass Works company in Alton, IL, and also spent some time working as a cook on the towboat Robert A. Kyle. Dixie also loved to volunteer her time at an elementary school, where she could work with the children as an instructional aid. She had a love for dogs and always made sure she had at least one to keep as a pet. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her brother, Ricky Boatright and wife Ginger of Benton, KY; one sister, Nelda Dawes and husband Joe of Benton, KY; two nieces, Melissa Moss and Cheryl McMullin; five nephews, Alan Dawes, Kevin Dawes, William Boatright, Ryan Boatright, and Darron Boatright; and her lifelong friend, Kathleen Wisdom.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Boatright; one sister, Melinda Boatright; and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr with Bro. Scott Penick officiating. Burial will follow at the Marshall County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
