Leila P. McManus, age 92, of Paducah, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Superior Care Home in Paducah.
Leila was born on February 27, 1928 in Kuttawa. She was a charter member of Reidland Baptist Church. Leila loved to teach and it was her true passion. After receiving two Masters degrees, she went on to teach English and German at Paducah Tilghman High School. She will be remembered by her family as being the most loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Leila is survived by her two sons, Tom McManus and wife, Belinda of Paducah and Billy Frank McManus of Calvert City; one sister, Mattie Darnell and husband, Charles of Paducah; one brother, Molloy Jackson, Jr. and wife Judy of Paducah; four grandchildren, Corey McManus, Ian McManus, Collin McManus and Lindsey McManus Cavitt and husband, David; five great-grandchildren, Alli Jones, Lincoln Jones, Tyler McManus, Tristan McManus and Dakota McManus.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Eugene McManus; mother, Georgie Doom Jackson and step-father, Molloy Jackson, Sr.; and two sisters, Shirley Pittman and Pat Schoening.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Rev. Rob Ison officiating. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no public visitation.
