Sydney Temple will continue track and field career at Freed-Hardeman University

Sydney was joined at her signing by members of her family (L-R) Kaylee Temple, Diane Temple, Sydney Temple, Byford Temple and Tyler Temple.

Sydney Temple signed on Monday to continue her track career at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. She has competed for the Marshall County High School track team all four years in high school and is currently the #2 ranked pole vaulter in school history.

Sydney has ranked in the top 10 in the state multiple times throughout her high school career. She placed 10th at last year’s KHSAA Track and Field State Championships with a vault of 9-06 after finishing 1st Region runner-up.

In her junior season, Sydney was selected to the All-Area 1 First Team and Class 3A First Team. She qualified for the state meet in pole vault her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons finishing 10th as a sophomore with a vault of 9-00 and 14th as a freshman with a vault of 9-00. She also contributed to the team in the triple jump. Sydney was set to have a career best senior season before the pandemic cancelled all sports.
