LaWanda “June” Marrs, age 84, of Benton, formerly of Deerborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her residence.
June was born in Paducah on August 23, 1935 to the late Luby J. Prince and Virgie Gertrude Prince. She loved music and dancing, and earlier in life, June use to love spending time on Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in the company of Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Little Jimmy Dickens.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Nicholas and husband, Roy of Lane, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, LaWanda Hendrix, Ashley Calles, Adam Long Hendrix, Charles Wayne Hendrix, Joshua Lee Hendrix, Thomas Lamar; several grandchildren including two very special ones, Jaden and Cayden; and her loving caregiver, Dawn Harris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Long Rain Marrs; her parents; three sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
