Rodney Polk, Jr., 48

Rodney “Rod” Myron Polk, Jr., 48, of Lexington and formerly of Kuttawa died June 6, 2020. Rod was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and was employed in Astra Zeneca Pharmaceutical. He was a member of Southland Christian Church in Nicholasville, KY. Rod he enjoyed family activities, UK basketball, hiking, horse racing, travel and photography.

Survivors include his wife, Corbitt Carter Polk, Lexington; parents Rodney M. Polk and Betty Smith Polk of Kuttawa, KY; two daughters, Addison “Addie” Clarabelle Polk (age 13) and Malena Ruby Polk (age 11); a sister, Angela “Angie” Polk Lee and husband Bruce, Kuttawa, KY; one niece, Victoria Lee Shewcraft and husband, Keaton, Marion, KY; one great niece, Lynlee Shewcraft; one nephew, Austin D. Lee, Atlanta, GA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rod was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ralph D. and Ruby Anderson Smith and paternal grandparents, W.R. and Doris Rushing Polk, all formerly of Kuttawa, KY.

Memorial Visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday, June 11 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, KY. Memorial Celebration of Life service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12 at the funeral home.
