Dolly Verzi, 86

Dolly Lee Verzi, age 86, of Benton, Kentucky was elevated to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from her residence at Calvert City Convalescent Center.

Dolly was born September 5, 1933 in Eddyville, Kentucky to the late Ben Lee and Pearl Rogers Lee. She spent most of her working life in Chicago, Illinois and later moved back to Benton, KY with her husband Louis Verzi. Dolly was a member of Benton Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sister, Lois Roberts and husband, Preston of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; a step-son, Steven Verzi and wife, Lee Ann of Benton; nieces, Glenda Duncan Spann and husband, Ron of Paducah and Mary Jane Duncan Noles, husband, Danny of Benton; grandchildren, Louis Verzi and wife, Heather, Jennifer Hoffman-Powers and husband, Emanuel, Anthony Verzi; six great-grandchildren; and several other nieces, nephews and their children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Verzi; her parents, Ben and Pearl Rogers Lee; four sisters, Mary Duncan, Dorothy Rice, Lucille Stamm, Mamie Nelson; five brothers, Johnny Lee, Willard Lee, James Lee, Jack Lee and Elwood Lee.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Calvert City Convalescent Center for their excellent care during Dolly’s stay at this wonderful facility.

A graveside service for Dolly will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Benton Church of Christ Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Franks officiating.

Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr is in charge of arrangements.
