PADUCAH, Ky. –Employees at Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, LLC, (FRNP) teamed up with the company and corporate partners Jacobs, Fluor and BWXT to raise funds to provide relief to three nonprofit agencies in the region: Community Kitchen, Family Service Society and Ballard County Family Focus.
FRNP provided a dollar-for-dollar match up to $15,000 to employees who contributed to this relief fund. Employees exceeded the match, contributing $19,140 through an employee payroll deduction campaign.
In addition to these funds, parent companies Jacobs and Fluor each donated $10,000 and BWXT $1,000. The total contributions totaled $55,140.
“Our communities in Western Kentucky have been tremendously impacted by this pandemic. It is a privilege to work with our employees and our corporate partners to provide funds that can help minimize the negative impact that COVID19 continues to have on this region,” said FRNP Program Manager Myrna Redfield.
“Since the beginning of this crisis, the many volunteers of Paducah’s Community Kitchen have been providing healthy meals to more than 1,000 guests each weekday,” said Sally Michelson.
“As is our mission, we respond to a great many needs in addition to hunger, and this crisis has seen a dramatic increase in those needs. We are so blessed by organizations like FRNP who have stepped up to help us in this time.”
FRNP is committed to serving the people of Western Kentucky charitable giving and volunteerism. FRNP’s employees, including members of the United Steel Workers Union and the International Union of Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America, contribute thousands of dollars to local charities through the firm’s payroll deduction offerings each year. Since 2017, FRNP managers and employees have devoted nearly 4,000 hours of community service. The company exceeded its annual goal for volunteer hours in 2018 by 200% and in 2019 by 500%.
