Jessie Frizzell, age 88, of Benton, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.
Jessie was born on May 28, 1931 to the late Robert and Rosetta Frizzell. He was a member of the Laborers Local Union #1214 for 68 years, and a long time member of the Olive Baptist Church. Jessie enjoyed fishing, working in his garden, driving his golf cart, and taking trips to Gatlinburg. Out of all of these interests and hobbies, he found his real joy from being with his family.
Jessie is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Katherine York Frizzell; three daughters, Sharron Edwards and husband Allen, Katie McKendree and husband Chris, and Marsha Harrell and husband Kevin; two sons, Kenneth Frizzell, and Mike Frizzell and wife Karen. Lovingly known by his family as Papa, he leaves behind ten grandchildren, Kevin (LeAnna) Frizzell, Bobby (Lee Ann) Frizzell, Jason (Tracey) Edwards, Josh (Sarah) Edwards, Jessica (Craig) Robinson, Justin (Shelley) Frizzell, Mathew McKendree, Melanie (Jordan) Hess, Dawson Harrell, and Dathan Harrell; and eleven great-grandchildren, Shelby Frizzell, Chelsey Frizzell, Hadley Frizzell, Hunter Frizzell, Henley Frizzell, Parker Edwards, Lily Edwards, Katherine Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, Charley Robinson, and Carter Robinson.
Jessie is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Monroe Frizzell; two sisters, Bucella Story and Mamie Langston; and a daughter-in-law, Eutonia Frizzell.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Jessie Frizzell will be private. After all of the funeral services have concluded, the family would like to give an opportunity for any of their friends and family members to offer their condolences. The family will be receiving drive-by condolences at his residence, 144 Frizzell Drive, Benton, KY from 4 PM until 6PM on Thursday May 7, 2020. Please see the attached map for directions.
