Charles Buril Hite, 93, of Cunningham passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
Burl was born to Charles and Mattie Halstead Hite in Milburn, Kentucky on July 7, 1926. He loved music and enjoyed sharing his talents with the world. Burl was a talented singer, piano player, and guitarist and would frequently play in local music festivals and for residents at the local nursing homes. When he wasn’t playing an instrument he could be found dancing.
Burl is survived by his daughter, Kim (Roger) Bates; one granddaughter, Chelsey (Corey) Hurt; two great grandchildren, June Nichole Hurt and Jackson Samuel Hurt, all of Cunningham, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hite and Mattie Halstead Hite; four sisters Dathol Marshell, Katie Randell, Ila Edwards, and Avis Reason; two brothers, Dallas “Doc” Hite and Randall “Jay Bird” Hite.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Mr. Hite will be private. Burial will take place at Milburn Cemetery. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell are in charge of arrangements.
