The Marshall County Health Department has received notification of the county’s first confirmed death related to coronavirus (COVID19). The individual was an 86 year old female who had been in an area hospital.
Privacy protection laws only permit the release of limited patient information. Additional details about the individual’s death or the name of the hospital will not be disclosed.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the patient’s family and friends” said Billy Pitts, Marshall County Health Department Public Health Director. “This serves as a very unfortunate reminder to the community about the importance of social distancing and other guidance offered in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 and help protect our most vulnerable neighbors.”
