Emma Smith has been a part of the Marshall County track and field team for three years. A good mid to long-distance runner in the 800 meters and 1600 meters, last season Emma extended her range to the 3200 meters and scored regional meet points at that distance.
She broke the six-minute barrier as a junior in the 1600 meters, earned a selection to the Class 3A Second Team in the 3200 meters and was looking to lower that time this season. Emma has been a part of state qualifying 4 x 800 relay teams twice in her career, which also earned a selection to the All-Area 1 and Class 3A First Teams last season.
Emma is a triple-threat – along with track and field, she was a member of the state-qualifying cross country team and regional champion soccer teams.
She plans to attend Murray State University and major in Communication Disorders.
