Benton Elementary (K-1) split including Brittany Ramage, Alicia Brophy, Mandy Miller, and Misty Green had a fun Valentine’s day of STEAM activities. Students in the art activity with the guidance of Mrs. Kristen Bryant exercised their thinking skills as they created treasures from simple rocks found in local creeks. This was a fun and easy way to teach kids about kindness.
Some students chose inspiring words and images combined to produce Valentine rock art. Others chose to paint kindness hearts. Students were having fun while improving both their sensory and motor skills. Creating art also boosts self-esteem and inspires students to achieve new levels of skill.
