CFS Eagles fall in OT to Fort Campbell, beat Evangel Christian

CFS freshman Andrew Dunning, pictured in last Tuesday’s game at Livingston Central, led the Eagles in Friday and Saturday games with a combined 43 points.

With five games left in the regular season, the CFS Eagles are 15-9 and could quite possibly finish with 20 wins. They already have wins over three of their next five opponents – Hickman County, Agape Christian and Fulton City. Although the official word on whether this is most wins in program history is still out, it is the most in over two decades. Previously, the most wins recorded since the 1997-98 season came two years ago when the Eagles finished 13-15 under current Head Coach Tyler Ryan.

Friday in their Senior Night game, the Eagles lost 66-65 in overtime to Fort Campbell. They led by four at halftime and still four at the end of the third quarter before Fort Campbell out-scored them by four points to tie it up 56-56 at the end of regulation and send the game into overtime.

CFS handily won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding Fort Campbell 47-29 but the edge went to the Falcons from beyond arc with seven 3-pointers. Andrew Dunning led the Eagles with 24 points on 10 of 16 and was 5/10 from the free throw line. Mikey Bivin recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Cameron Pratt led Fort Campbell with 19 points.
