Gwendoline Hammons Peyton, 73, of Paducah, passed away at 3:21 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at her home.
She was a member of Freedom Center Church in Paducah and she retired from The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. She was a former member of Paducah Junior Women’s Club, very active in the Girl Scouts and a member of the Gutter Gals Bowling League.
She is Survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Ann Thomas and husband, Randy of Gilbertsville, Joey Amanda Finnell and husband, Charles Alan of Boaz; son, James David Peyton and wife, Paula of West Paducah; sister, Jo Ellen Hammell and husband, George of Symsonia; seven grandchildren, J.P. Peyton, Audrey Mansfield, Caitlin Jones, Blake Roettger, Michael Thomas, James Finnell, and Taylor Finnell; and one niece, Christine Leigh Lofton; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James A Hammons and Doreen Kirker Hammons.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Paducah with Rev. David Kelly officiating.
Visitation for Mrs. Peyton will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.
