Sharpe Elementary’s second grade students donated $1,067 to the Marshall County Humane Society, raising the money by making and selling bracelets and dog treats. They also auctioned off works of art and made blankets for the dogs and cats.
The Humane Society said, “Seeing the enthusiasm these children had for helping dogs and cats waiting for forever homes was the best early Christmas present ever.”
It was a project-based learning project about giving back to the community. The students raised money, purchased items needed and advertised.
