Alice Lucille Hill, age 101, of Calvert City, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Hill was born in Marshall County on February 1, 1918 to the late Arnold and Ethel Phelps. She was married for over 70 years to the late Fred Hill. She was a Homemaker and member of Altona Baptist Church. She loved to quilt and sew and enjoyed making Dutch dolls. In the 101 years she was blessed with, she never once drove a car. Lucille was able to live to oversee five generations of her family.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Sheilia J. Moyers of Benton; three sons, Joe M. Hill (Sylvia) of Benton, Murrell W. Hill of Calvert City, and Gerald W. Hill (Pam) of Benton; one sister, Tommie Phelps Jackson (Troy) of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Gwen Moss, Troy Hill, Greg Hill, Jessie Moyers, Jeffrey Moyers, Daniel Hill, Shawn Hill, Adam Hill; ten great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hill; her parents; one son, Carl Eugene Hill; six brothers, William Phelps, Joe Phelps, Claude Phelps, Aubery Phelps, Uel Phelps, and Boyd Phelps; one son-in-law, Leroy Moyers; one daughter-in-law, Adriene Sue Hill.
A funeral service for Lucille will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr with Bro. C.C. Brasher and Bro. Joe Day officiating. Burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
