On October 31, 2019, at approximately 7:26 p.m., McCracken County Deputies were dispatched to a reported air plane crash in the western part of McCracken County. Central dispatch received information, from Barkley Regional Airport, stating a possible plane had crashed, somewhere near Midwest Aviation. A short time later, dispatch received a 911 phone call from the 9900 block of Woodville Road, stating there was a fire behind their residence in a wooded area.
Within minutes deputies from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office were in the area in question and did confirm a small plane had crashed and taken the life of the pilot. West McCracken and Concord Fire Departments also responded and extinguished the fire.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office along with the McCracken County Coroner’s Office worked into the early morning hours in efforts to positively identify the pilot of the plane and make proper notifications.
Our investigation has resulted in identifying the pilot as 49 year old Dr. Clint Hill, of Paducah. The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is still on scene awaiting an investigators from the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) and the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to arrive and assist with the ongoing investigation.
