Mr. Jim Grider, age 71, of Murray, Kentucky died at 9:26pm Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Grider was born January 4, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Eddie and Willie Bright Grider. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Murray, Kentucky and the CWR Sunday School Class. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
He is survived by his wife, Gingy Grider; daughter, Kelly Couch (Greg), Carrollton, Kentucky; son, Jimmy Grider (Carolynn), Georgetown, Indiana; step children, Lindsey Ryan, Louisville, Kentucky, Aaron Ryan, Murray, and Zach Ryan, Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Pam Embry (Ron), Murray; brother, Jeff Grider, Louisville, Kentucky; mother in law, Fay Nell Flora, Murray; three grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3:00pm Saturday at the Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Inman and Rev. Boyd Smith officiating. Friends may visit the family after 1:00pm Saturday at the Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the First Baptist Church CWR Sunday School Class and employees of the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
