Glendell Clinton Butterworth, 84, of Paducah, passed away at 6:10 pm on September 6, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife Donna (Pierson) Butterworth of Paducah, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bret Cude of Gilbertsville, granddaughter Cassy Cude of Jackson, Tennessee, and sister and brother-in-law Dorrice and Charles Leake of Mexico, Missouri. He was the son of Sidney and Alta Butterworth who preceded him in death.
Following… graduation from Harrisburg Township High School, he joined the United States Navy. In the Navy, he was a member of a Naval Flight crew during the Vietnam Conflict.
He held various positions with Southeastern Rural Electric Coop in Eldorado, Illinois and retired in 1999.
After his retirement, he volunteered with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief teams traveling to areas assisting with hurricane and tornado damage.
Glen was a member and served as a deacon of the Elizabethtown Southern Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois on Tuesday, September 10th at 10:00 am with Pastor Ed Lafferty of the Elizabethtown Southern Baptist Church officiating.
There will be no visitation.
