Mrs. Merita Wilson Hendon, age 77, of Sedalia passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
She was a member of Enon Baptist Church and she retired after 45 years as a hairdresser. Mrs. Hendon loved cooking for family and friends, tending her flowers and caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a devoted servant to her church and community.
Mrs. Hendon is survived by her husband, Ray Hendon; two daughters, Angela (Curtis) Shultz of Sedalia, KY and Amy Potts of Madison, AL; one brother, Ronnie (Tina) Wilson of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Betty (Gilliam) Guthrie of Mayfield, KY; five grandchildren, J. Daniel Shultz, Katelyn Shultz, Andrew Shultz, Taylor Potts and Cynthia (Sam) Bartlett; and two great grandchildren, Anna Grace Shultz and Kylie Beth Blankney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Thelma Boyd Wilson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Merita Wilson Hendon will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Ike Murphy and Rev. Lonnie Perigo will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Harshman, Cole Guthrie, Josh Wilson, Joey DeLapp, Freddie Windsor and Jim Bowlin.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the funeral home.
