Mr. John G. Parker, age 70 of Pembroke and formerly of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 19th at the Christian Heights Nursing and Rehab in Pembroke of natural causes.
He was born May 23, 1949 in Mayfield, Kentucky the son of the late Gerald and Dorothy Cherry Parker.
He was Church of Christ by faith. He was a 1967 graduate of North Marshall High School and attended the University of Kentucky. John also was Director of Southern Operations for Casablanca Records and Filmworks as well as the Southeast Field Promotion Manager for RCA Records/United Artists both in Atlanta, Georgia. A lot of people may remember John as a radio personality at WCBL in Benton, WKYX/WKYQ/WDXR in Paducah, WVLK AM/FM in Lexington and WHHY AM/FM in Montgomery, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister Julia Summers. He is survived by his brother Philip Parker of Crossville, Tennessee.
There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, September 7th at 1:00 at the Bethlehem Church Cemetery, 416 Bethlehem Church Road, Palma, Kentucky with David Hendrickson officiating.
