Steve Free, age 64, of Cadiz, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, at Trigg County Hospital.
Born August 8, 1954, in Benton, he was the son of Rebecca “Becky” Woodruff of Cadiz, and the late Udell “Buck” Free. Steve worked for over 40 years as an independent commercial truck driver. When not on the road, Steve enjoyed spending time on his farm where he raised beef cattle.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step father, John E. Woodruff; step brother, Alan Kingston and a step sister, Marci Woodruff.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Dustin (Sara) Free of Benton; a granddaughter, Audrey Free; a brother, Flint (Shelia) Free of Cadiz; two sisters, Brenda Sue (David) Buffum of Poinciana, Florida, and Pamelia Ann (Jim) Wallace of Gilbertsville and step mother, Reba Parrish of Paducah.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2019, with Rev. Kevin Deibert officiating.
Burial will follow in Woodruff’s Retreat Cemetery in Cadiz.
