T. Lawson’s Grill located in the heart of Grand Rivers has been in the works for quite some time now and it is finally open to the public according to Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Ann Martin! The restaurant is based on the rich history of Grand Rivers. There has been lots of time and research put into T. Lawson’s, from the decor to the menu item’s names and the logo. Ann designed the logo herself and it is based on T. Lawson himself. He was the original founder of Grand Rivers and was known as the Copper King, which is why they have a copper top bar. The menu is a history lesson all on its own! Every menu item has its own historical background related to Grand Rivers. Ann is joined by an amazing team that are very passionate about T. Lawson’s and have gone above and beyond to make sure that it truly portrays Grand Rivers past from the very beginning.
When I asked how she would describe the menu, Ann said “Historical Grand Rivers & Southern Hospitality”. While it doesn’t have the Patti’s items on the menu, it does have some similar items. The Boston Block Bites are similar to the Mozzarella Sticks for instance. She also said that the menu is Up-Scale Pub Style Food. A few items are the Grand Pretzel and Crab Cakes on the Appetizers, Steaks, Shrimp & Grits, Copper King Burger, and Ashley’s Bourbon Apple Caramel Cheesecake! Plus they have a full bar as well.
As of right now they will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but have plans in the future to open on Tuesday nights for special event nights such as music, trivia nights, or murder mystery nights.
This week they are open Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5pm – 9pm. The T. Lawson’s Team is ready to serve you some amazing food in their historical southern atmosphere that they have put so much time and effort into creating right here in our backyard!
Next week they will start their regular hours of Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 11am to 9pm and Saturday from 11am to 10pm. They are currently working on getting someone that will be working on playing piano on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Be sure to check out their Facebook Page!
This is the perfect place for a date night and super close to home, you could even catch a show right next door at Badgett Theater!
