Joyce Ellen Wiersma, 61, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 11:54 P.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Joyce was born in Joliet, Illinois on January 1, 1958 to James and Martha Wiersma. She was very involved with her church and its mission. Most recently she was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. She participated in mission trips to Uganda and sponsored a child there. Her love for others drew her to care for and work with the elderly, infirmed, and destitute. She will be remembered for the special love she held for her family, her selfless life of service, and her unending dedication to Christ.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kirsti Simon ( Jarred ), of Norman, Oklahoma; her son, Austin Granger; her sister, Carol Jean Fields ( Reggie ), of Paducah; her brothers, Randy Wiersma (Dianne), of Paducah, Keith Wiersma ( Margherita ), of Sandwich, Illinois; her grandchildren, Emily and Evelyn Simon; and her mother, Martha Wierma.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, James Wiersma; her brother, Ricky Wiersma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, July 19, 2019 at the funeral home.
