New and Upcoming Events at Mike Miller Park!

There have been lots of new things happening at Mike Miller Park lately!  Marshall County Parks Director, Britney Heath is working hard to offer more than just kids activities at the park now.

As of this week, every 1st Tuesday of the month from 1pm to 2:30pm Mike Miller Park is teaming up with Marshall County Health Department and Baptist Health Paducah to bring the Kangaroo Klub to Marshall County.  A lactation consultant facilitates this group that provides pregnant or breastfeeding mothers a chance to connect with others who share their experiences.

They have also started having YOGA classes on Monday and Thursday nights from 5:30pm-6:30pm.  You do not have to register ahead of time.  They are $10 per class, or you can pay $50 per month for unlimited classes.

Britney mentioned that they are still doing the Essential Oils classes as well.  You can always contact them at the Visitor Center at Mike Miller Park with questions about any events they have going on!

Don’t forget about Disc Golf if you’re not into Yoga or Oils!  She also mentioned there is a local club, you can check out their Facebook Page at West Kentucky Disc Golf Club.

Want to learn something new?? How about Kayak Fishing?!  This is a FREE event being held at Mike Miller Park on July 13th and the Kayaks are provided.  You must be 16 or older and have a fishing license.  You must also pre-register for this event.  Click HERE to Register!

Another ALL NEW event coming to the Visitor Center at Mike Miller Park on July 26th is “Dating After 50”!  This is a special event for those that are over 50 and single.  Here is your chance to get out of the house, meet new people, find a new friend to eat a meal with….what do you have to lose?  There will be refreshments available and if you have any questions about this event, please contact Gina at 815-274-3943.

There are so many more amazing events and attractions in the works at the park including WHO FESTIVAL coming up in September!

Britney wanted me to mention that if you have an idea for an event that you would like to see at the park or a class offered at the Visitor Center, please reach out to her and let her know!  They are always looking for new and exciting things to offer, especially out of the box ideas that they might not have thought about yet.

Be sure to check out their Facebook Page and give it a Like if you haven’t already Mike Miller Park!
