
Freddie worked in the car industry for over 55 years. During that time, he owned car dealerships in Benton, Kentucky and Paris, Tennessee. The car industry took him to Michigan, Colorado, California, and Florida among other places. The car business always kept him on the go, and he thrived on it.
He is survived by his children, Tim Poe, Andrea (Joel) Barrett, and Dondra (Paul) Hackney and five grandchildren: McKinzie and Grant Hackney, Bella and Eilzabeth Barrett, and Max Poe. In addition, two step-brothers survive: Mr. Conard Newton and Mr. Jimmy Newton. His favorite grand dog, Gidget Girl, also survives.
Mr. Poe was preceded into death by wife, Treasa Ann (Brien) Poe, father, Claude W. Poe, mother and step-father, Altha and Clarence Newton, and infant son, Jonathan Mark.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Elder Robert Chandler will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
