Marshall County Fiscal Court met in regular session Tuesday, June 18. Video of proceedings can be viewed below.
The court heard from guest Billy Pitts with the Marshall County Health Department concerning tax rates.
In correspondence, Deputy Judge/Executive Brad Warning gave a report on county employee wage changes.
Randy Newcomb with the Kentucky Lake Convention and Visitor’s Bureau addressed the court over transient room tax concerns and making it fair for businesses who are collecting that tax and how it is collected. The Kentucky Lake CVB budget was approved and first reading of the transient tax ordinance read.
Judge Kevin Neal updated the court on a law suit filed in 2017 against the county over a washed out road. The court recently ruled in favor of the Road Department.
Erica West was approved for a four-year term as County Treasurer starting in July.
Board appointments to the West Marshall, South Marshall and Palma-Briensburg Fire Department’s approved and annual contract and lease agreements were accepted and approved.
