Ronnie Black, 74

Ronnie Black, age 74, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Marshall County Hospital.  Ronnie resided in Hardin, KY where he was a member of the city council and faithful member of Hardin Church of Christ.

Ronnie was born in Clinton, KY on January 13, 1945 to the late James and Pansy Black.  He served our country in the United States Army and was retired from the City of Hardin.  In high school, he enjoyed wrestling and was the Lightweight State Champion in the state of Michigan.  He loved flea markets, and in particular searching for antiques and soda bottles.  He had a passion for woodworking and refinishing furniture.  He enjoyed camping and helping people.  Ronnie will be remembered as the “Go to Man” in Hardin.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy Byers Black; three sons, Kevin Black (Mary) of Farmington, Jason Black (Heather Adams), of Almo, and Keith Steele (Carol) of Benton; one daughter, Deborah Steele of Fairdealing;  two sisters, Janet Keeling (Billy), of Burna,  and Kim Hopkins (Bobby) of Almo; one brother, Gary Black (Kathy) of Farmington; seven grandchildren, Austin Black, Elicia Black, Taylor Black, Tori Black, Kaleb Steele, Noah Steele, and Ellie Steele; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Judy Lamb, Anna Black, and Brenda Black; and two brothers, James Ruford Black and Keith Black.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Hardin Church of Christ with Keith Steele, Noah Steele, and David Smith officiating.  Burial with military rites will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Hardin Church of Christ.  Visitation will also be held from 9:00 am until the service at 11:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Hardin Church of Christ.
