
Marshall County’s track team tested themselves against some of the top teams in the state Saturday in Louisville at the Johnny Conn Invitational. Combined, the boy’s and girl’s teams recorded 22 individual top 10 results and five top 10 relay results. The girl’s team placed eighth among a field of 17 teams and the boy’s team placed ninth in a field of 22 teams. The girls from Male took first and Fern Creek won on the boy’s title.

Freshman Caleb Pahl turned in the top result of the day, taking first in pole vault, clearing 13-06 while teammate Bryce Ladd took second with 11-00. Cade Flatt came away with a top three finish, taking third in the 1600 meters in 4:33.94.
Top results for the girl’s team also came in field events. Sydney Temple took second in pole vault with 10-06 and eighth grader Presleigh Jenning’s high jump of 4-10 was good for second place, just edging out teammate Tori McCracken who also jumped 4-10 to take third. Also recording a top three result was Abigail Oakley with a third place finish in discus with a throw of 98-10.
