Frances Miller, 74

Mrs. Frances (Fran) Goodwin Miller, of Murray, Kentucky, born on December 15, 1944 in Aiken, SC, to the late Sara Elizabeth Goodwin and the late Rev. John Edward Goodwin, passed away at age 74 on April 11, 2019 in Murray, Kentucky.

Fran graduated from St. Mary’s College, California with a BS in nursing, and The University of San Francisco where she earned a master’s degree in nursing administration. She was a loving, dedicated hospice nurse, and also taught in the nursing program at Murray State University. Her knowledge, compassion, and caring for others lives on in the nurses she taught and worked with, as well as anyone who knew her. Fran had a passion for local theater. She supported and acted in several local theaters including Playhouse in the Park. Fran was a member of Journey Church in Murray.

Fran was the beloved wife of Don. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Zig Zalewski, brother, Jack Goodwin, and sister, Sara Goodwin. Fran is survived by her sons, Andrew (Jennifer) Zalewski and Brian (Cori) Zalewski; daughter, Jill (Nick) Giovas; stepson, Kris (Tori) Miller, stepdaughter Michelle (Brandon) Guyet, brother, Marshall (Joyce) Goodwin; five grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, Tamirat, Zig and Max; six step grandchildren, Catherin, Alex, Colin, Noel, Molly, Anna; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her love, positivity, joy of life, and generous heart will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Fran’s name to Playhouse in the Park, Murray, KY and St. Jude’s. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
