Mr. Gene H. Gordon, age 89 of Benton, KY passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a long time member of the Benton Jaycees. Gene retired from Penwalt of Calvert City, KY where he was a inventory control manager, then later retired from the Rail Services Inc. of Calvert City, KY. He loved to golf and was a charter member of the Benton Country Club.
Born Tuesday, April 30, 1929 in Benton, KY to the late Chester H. Gordon and Lena (Henson) Gordon.
Surviving is his son, Mark A. Gordon, wife Amanda of Parker, CO; daughter, Dianna Colson, husband Brad of Benton, KY; step-sons Larry and David; step-daughters Deanna and Tammy; grandchildren Matt, wife Joanna, Jenny, husband Jeff, Ethan, Kimberly, Mandy, Billy and Mikayla; and seven great-grandchidren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Sue “Susie” (Holloman) Gordon; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Gordon and step-son, Billy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY, with Rev. K. Alan Miller officiating.
Interment will follow the service in Hamlet Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th. St. Benton, KY 42025.
