
Marshall County and Christian Fellowship tipped off in the MC Shootout Friday, the first meeting on the court for the neighbor schools since the 2004-2005 season. The Marshals came out on top, 73-23, led in scoring by Austin Riley with 18 points and Tyler Powell with 17 points. Riley had five threes in the first half, Powell right behind him with four in the half.
The Marshals led 23-4 at the end of the first quarter, led by Powell with nine points, all from three point range. Riley had two threes for six in the quarter, Bryce Flatt added six points and Tyler Stokes with two. Christian Fellowship’s four points came from Drew Cary and Andrew Allen.
CFS scored 12 points in the second quarter, but trailed 46-16 at halftime. The Marshals extended their lead at the end of the third quarter to 61-20, going on to win the game 73-23.
Allen and Cary led the Eagles with six points each and the loss drops them to 3-16. CFS will play at home on Tuesday against Calloway County. The Marshals improve to 9-10 and will play at Paducah Tilghman on Tuesday.
