James L. Puckett, 87 of Benton, KY died on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
Born Saturday, April 27, 1931 in Benton, KY, he was the son of the late Timothy Puckett and the late Ruby (Stokes) Puckett.
He retired from the Marshall County School system where he drove a school bus and he was a member of the Apostolic House of Prayer in Paducah, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Holland) Puckett of Benton, KY; five sons, James Evel Puckett of Munford, TN, Stanley Puckett of Mayfield, KY, Timothy Puckett of Mayfield, KY, Gary Don Powell of Benton, KY, Michael Lynn Powell of Benton, KY;
three daughters, Patricia Wetherington of Indianapolis, IN, Rosemary Puckett of Calvert City, KY, Betty Brashear of Calvert City, KY; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Louise McMillen; brothers, John Willis Puckett, Lawrence Thomas Puckett, Rady Puckett; and sister, Henretta Walton.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with the Raymond Connor officiating.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery located in Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home.
