Rev. Marlin Mac Mitchell, 83, passed away at Lourdes Hospital on December 26, 2018. He served in the Navy Reserves, drove semi trucks, flew planes, and served as a minister to several Missionary Baptist Churches in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois.
He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Marlin Mitchell is survived by Alice May Armstrong Mitchell, his wife of 65 years, and three of his children: son Rodney, his wife, Tami, and their daughter, Alyssa, of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter-in-law Susan, of Springfield, Missouri, her daughters Chelsea, of Chicago, and Whitney, and her husband Chad and their daughter Nora, also of Springfield; his daughter Cheryl, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and son Bill and his wife Renee of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his son Gary and parents Malcom James Mitchell and Mary Irene Kinslow Astin.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
Interment will follow in the Fooks Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
