
Thursday’s final game paired up the Marshall County boys against Trigg County. The Marshals opened with a 3-pointer by junior Austin Riley, added four more three’s from Tyler Powell with three and Bryce Flatt with one to stretch out an early 23-7 lead at the end of the first quarter on their way to a 67-31 win.

Powell opened the second quarter with his fourth three of the game, five straight points from Tyler Stokes on a three and lay-in following a turnover, put the Marshals up 36-11 and they went on to lead 40-11 at halftime. Stokes added seven of his 20 points in the third quarter to stretch the Marshals lead to 56-24 heading into the fourth quarter.
Sophomore guard Jay Nimmo dropped in a three to open the fourth quarter followed by another three from Stokes to lead 62-26 on their way to a 36 point win. Stokes earned Most Valuable Player with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Powell scored 14 for the Marshals and Bryce Flatt had 11. Trigg County was led by freshman Kendric Adams with 11 points.
The Marshals will play again on Saturday in the 8:30 p.m. game against Pendleton County and Kentucky commit Dontaie Allen.
