Lady Eagles win home-opener 56-18 over Carroll Academy

CFS eighth grader, Renee Shields, led the Lady Eagles with 10 points in their 56-18 win over Carroll Academy, TN.

Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles are off to a 1-1 start, looking to improve on last years three-win season. Under the direction of second-year head coach Trevor Jackson, the Lady Eagles lost their season-opener 51-16 to Dawson Springs Monday but followed that up on Tuesday with a 56-18 win in their first home game over Carroll Academy, TN.

The very young Lady Eagles roster consists of just four high school players – senior Rachel Howard, two juniors Jaycie Jackson and Edie Little and freshman Karli Vaughn. Nine eighth graders include Lillian Burnett, Allie Collie, Rheme Howard, Maddie Irvan, Jayden Jackson, Renee Shields, Tiffany Sikes, Madisyn Stephens and Alyssa Warren. Seventh grader Gracie Howard is the youngest on the squad.

The Lady Eagles led 20-0 at the end of the first quarter in their win over Carroll Academy Tuesday. The Lady Jags scored nine points in the second quarter but trailed CFS 30-9 at halftime. CFS scored 14 points in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth, holding Carroll Academy to nine second half points in the 56-18 win.

Nine Lady Eagles scored in the win led by Shields with 10 and eight points each from Jaycie Jackson and Howard.
