Non-Profit Funding by Fiscal Court Explained

Due to to the high volume of public question and concern regarding the Marshall County Fiscal Court’s funding of various non-profit organizations within the county, we are providing here the public records concerning this matter.

  1. Marshall County Senior Citizens- $92,500
  2. Needline- $35,000
  3. Hardin Senior Citizens- $30,000
  4. Marcella’s Kitchen- $13,000
  5. Marshall County High School (Hoopfest)- $7,500
  6. Marshall County Exceptional Center- $5,000
  7. Marshall County Arts Commission- $3,500
  8. Ramp Ministries- $3,000
  9. Marshall County Veterans Support Group- $3,000
  10. WAC PAC- $2,500
  11. Haven of Hope- $2,000

This was the list and amounts that were submitted by Commissioner Rick Cocke, with Commissioner Johnny Bowlin and Commissioner Bob Gold voting in agreement. Judge Executive Kevin Neal voted against accepting this as the final list and approved amounts. Judge Neal has explained that instead, he was in favor of non-profits submitting applications that would be reviewed by the court before making a selection and determining the amount of monies awarded to each organization.
