On September 10th Deputy Jason Ivey served an active bench warrant for Failure to Appear on Rebecca D. Long 37, of Benton. Long was already detained in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On September 10th Deputy Barry Howell located a male subject walking on I-69 northbound at the Graves/Marshall line. Dispatch verified that Joshua Autrey 29, of Calhoun, KY, had an active Indictment warrant out of Ohio County along with a Bench warrant out of Daviess County. Autrey was placed under arrest and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On Monday September 10th at 11:28 p.m. Deputy Josh Anderson observed a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner on US 68 E. A traffic stop was conducted near Jonathan Elementary School and upon contact Deputy Anderson observed a strong smell of alcohol. When asked for proof of insurance, Deputy Anderson observed an unopen beer in her purse. She was then asked if she had anything to drink and she stated it ad been approximately 1 hour prior. Upon search of the vehicle, deputies located 1 open beer can, 1 open whiskey bottle and 3 more unopen beer cans. The female subject also had a 2 year old child in the car with her at the time. Ginger D. Dees 65, of Mayfield, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree and Possession of Open Alcohol Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle. After being placed in custody and taken to the Marshall County Detention Center the deputy jailer located a bottle with 107 lortabs in it. Dees as asked warned prior to arrival about taking contraband into the jail. Dees was then also charged with Promoting Contraband 1st Degree and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree.
On September 11th Deputy Jason Ivey and Deputy Steven Oakley responded to Concord Drive in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies were met in the roadway by a female subject who advised the male subject was intoxicated and angry and may possibly have a gun. The subject stepped onto the porch and yelled profanities at the deputies and proceeded back into the house. The subject came back outside and as the subject went to shut the door Deputy Ivey stepped between the door while the subject was still trying to shut it. Deputies proceeded to have to deploy their tasers to control the subject and get him into custody. Billy Sharp 35, of Gilbertsville, was arrested and charged with Menacing.
On September 11th Court Security Officer Brandon Little was notified a Jonathan A. Hack 45, of LaCenter, had been caught concealing urine in his waistband. Hack was arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.
On September 11th Sheriff Kevin Byars served an active bench warrant out of Marshall County for Failure to Appear on Megan S. Watters 39, of Benton. Watters was already lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On September 12th Sgt. Tim Reynolds responded to Murray Hwy in reference to a vehicle parked in a driveway with the headlights on. Upon arrival, the vehicle was still in the drive and as Sgt. Reynolds put his light on the car he observed a male subject in the drivers seat. The car then drove forward striking the residence. Upon contact, Sgt. Reynolds observed a bottle of whiskey in the front seat. As the male subject got out of the car a lid had fell out of his lap. There was… a bottle of bourbon in the passenger floor board that was nearly empty. The driver was unable to follow to respond to any commands and had difficulty standing. Jakob R. Taylor 18, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Person 18-20 Poss/Purch/ Att Purch/Have Another Purch Alcohol.
On September 15th, Deputy Barry Howell served an arrest warrant on William C. Brown of Benton for Failure to Appear.
On September 16th, Deputy Josh Anderson served an arrest warrant on Blake T. Keeling of Benton for Flagrant Non Support.
On September 16th, Deputy Josh Anderson served an arrest warrant on Riley Zane Adams of Benton for Failure to Appear in McCracken County.
On September 16th, Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Josh Anderson were dispatched to a motor Vehicle crash at the intersection of Mayfield Highway and Johnston Subdivision Road. The report was of a vehicle that had struck a garage. After the investigation, Deputy Greenfield arrested Keisha S. Johnson of Symsonia, KY. Johnson was charged with Operating A Motor Vehicle U/Influence Alc/Drugs/Etc .08 Aggravating Circumstances 1st Offense.
On September 16th Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to Purchase Parkway in the area of the 42 Mile Marker in reference to a vehicle stuck in the median. Deputy Greenfield spoke to the driver who reported that he had missed his exit and was trying to turn around and got stuck. Further investigation by Deputy Greenfield resulted in the arrest of the driver Ralph Travis of New Johnsonville, TN. Travis was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence Alc/Drugs/Etc .08 1st Offense. and Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.
Deputy Greenfield found boxes of Tramadol and Valium in the vehicle with a shipping box indicating that the medications had come from Asia. Neither had prescription information.
