The search for Brock Mardis is still underway according to local authorities.
The man hunt began last two weeks ago when Mardis allegedly escaped authorities from Calloway County when they were attempting to serve warrants in South Marshall County.A high-speed pursuit then began, heading west on Brewers Highway (KY 402) and eventually reaching Vanzora Road near the Brewers community. That was when the man, identified as Mardis, apparently jumped out of his vehicle and escaped into a field. In addition to Calloway deputies, troopers from Kentucky State Police and deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office also joined in the search for the man.
Mardis, a Marshall County native, and alumnus of Marshall County High School, is the owner of several local businesses including M&M Contracting, LLC, and Delivery Dudes of Murray. According to his social media page he is also the owner of Bethel Health & Wellness, and the co-founder and producer for Blissful Entertainment. Mardis’ professional profile lists him as the president of Mind Healing Miracles, Inc which is listed as being an online healing platform that facilitates healing through enlightenment.
The warrants that were being served on Mardis from Calloway County include rape 1st degree, unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree, unlawful transaction with a minor 1st degree, and failure to appear for court. Calloway County Sheriff Sam Steger says that local officials are working with law enforcement in Florida to locate Mardis after receiving information that may suggest he has fled to his former residence there. Residents in our area are still encouraged to be aware as he does have many ties to the area. Mardis is considered to be dangerous by authorities.
In addition to the original warrants being served for Calloway County cases, Mardis is now facing multiple charges in Marshall County as well. Charges include fleeing or evading motor vehicle 1st degree, wanton endangerment 1st degree police officer, and reckless driving. Marshall County sheriff Kevin Byars says that additional charges may be possible. Mardis’ vehicle has been impounded and authorities have filed for forfeiture.
This is only the latest in what appears to be a long standing pattern of criminal activity. Mardis was convicted on charges of aggravated battery in Palm Beach County, Florida in 2015 and received 5 years probation. Only months after he was convicted he violated his probation. A new warrant for his arrest has now been filed on Monday for a second violation of probation.
In December of 2017, he was arrested in Calloway County and charged with menacing, resisting arrest, unlawful transaction with a minor 3rd degree, and illegal sale/give alcohol in a dry territory 1st offense. He was also arrested in McCracken County in March of this year for failure to signal and driving under the influence. Mardis was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for a DUI hearing, a bench warrant is anticipated for failure to appear.
