Billy Joe Gordon, age 72, of Benton, KY, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2018 at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Born in Linden, TN on April 14, 1946, he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. When he was younger, he loved to go roller skating. He also loved picking his guitar, but what he loved most of all was his Bible and going to church.
He is survived by one brother, Gary Gordon of Benton, KY; nephews, Steve Coleman, Jeff York, Russell Gordon, Keith and Kenny Gordon; nieces Lesa Colburn husband Steve, Pat Butler husband James and Teressa Curtsinger husband Scott, and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Elisa (Chandler) Gordon, brother George “Buddy” Gordon; sisters, Loretta “Dimple” Rogers and Betty Ann York; an infant brother and sister, a niece, Pam Cameron and a nephew Little Gary Gordon.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Marshall Co. Memory Gardens with Bro, Edgar Lee Paschall officiating. Burial is to follow the services.
There will be no public visitation for Mr. Gordon.
