On July 31st at 12:39pm, Deputy Steven Oakley stopped a vehicle on I-24 for speeding 91 in a 70mph Zone. When he approached the vehicle, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. He asked the occupants and both had marijuana and paraphernalia on their person. The driver, Tanya E. Cave-Miller of Springfield, Illinois was cited for Speeding, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Possess. She will appear in Marshall District Court in late August. The passenger, Dominique Marie Miller of Decatur, Illinois was cited for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Possess and will also appear in late August.
