Hickory, KY (July 30, 2018) The Kentucky State Police Post 1 recently honored two employees as they prepare to retire July 31, 2018. Master Trooper Chris Smith, and Telecommunicator Marie Hart.
Master Trooper Smith began his career with the Kentucky State Police in June 2000. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy in November 2000, he was assigned to the Mayfield Post. Master Trooper Smith received the Commissioner’s Commendation from the State Police Commissioner, during his career. Prior to joining the Kentucky State Police, Master Trooper Smith served four years in the Marine Corps, as a Military Police Officer, leaving the service as a Sergeant.
Telecommunicator Marie Hart began her career with the Kentucky State Police in May 1995 and was assigned to the Mayfield Post. Hart received the Telecommunicator of the year award for Post 1 in 1997, and received the Civilian Employee of the Year for the state in 2000.
