Mary Littlejohn, 91

Mrs. Mary Oakley Littlejohn, age 91 of Benton, KY died on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Stilley House Memory Unit in Benton, KY. Mrs. Littlejohn was born in the Golden Pond Community in Land Between the Lakes on February 4, 1927. She was the youngest child of Chester and Ivey Oakley. Mrs. Littlejohn had three brothers, Odis Oakley,
Jessee Oakley, and Andrew Oakley, all deceased, and three sisters, Retha Wells, Edith Attebury, and Cornelia Sparrow, all deceased.

Mrs. Littlejohn married the love of her life, James “Ed” Littlejohn on May 18, 1946 after he returned from military service during World War II. They married in Evansville, IN, and worked and lived there until 1948 when they moved home to farm in the Golden Pond area. They moved to Marshall County in September of 1960 after being bought out by TVA.

Mrs. Littlejohn was a member of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church for 58 years. Mrs. Littlejohn worked in the Marshall County Property Valuation Office and retired after 27 years. She also taught school in years 1943 and 1944.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, James Ed Littlejohn, daughter, Sandra Hall, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and one grandchild, Meredith Haak.

Mrs. Littlejohn is survived by one daughter, Linda Littlejohn, one son, Harold Littlejohn, wife Pat, three grandchildren, Christina Littlejohn Parks, husband Gary, Jeremy Littlejohn, wife Robyn, and Charles Ashley Haak, six great-grandchildren, Shelby Parks, Stephen Parks, Kendra Cannon, Bailey Cannon, Emily Littlejohn, and
Andrew Littlejohn.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Zions Cause Baptist Church located at 1532 US 68 West Benton, KY 42025 with Dr. Charles Frazier officiating.

Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery, Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Zions Cause Baptist Church, 1532 US 68 West, Benton, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Zion’s Cause Baptist Church Building Fund
