
Mr. Calvin E. “Hap” McCaslin, Sr., 92 of Benton, KY died on Monday, April 2, 2018, at his residence. Born Sunday, July 5, 1925 in Warrensville, Pennsylvania, he was a retired Engineer for DT & I Railroad, a member of Northside Baptist Church in Mayfield, American Legion Post 236, Military Order of the Purple Heart, DAV, and 3rd Armored Division. He served Honorably in the United States Army during World War II where he received a Purple Heart and 5 Bronze Stars.
Mr. McCaslin is survived by his son, Calvin E. McCaslin, Jr. wife Jane of Rogers City, Michigan; daughter Donna Floden of Possum Trot; nephew Robert Lineman, one grandson, William Haynes and three great-grandsons, Trevor, Matthew and Kenneth Haynes.
Mr. McCaslin was preceded in death by his wife Hazel (Yonkers) McCaslin, brother Wilfred McCaslin and sisters, Alverna Keefer and Velma Fye. His parents were the late Harvey and Eva (Pidcoe) McCaslin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Monte Hodges officiating. Burial with military rites will be held at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
