Area law enforcement agencies are searching for a man wanted in relation to the fatal shooting of a Hopkinsville police officer Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, an unidentified off-duty Hopkinsville police officer was pulled over by a man pretending to be a fellow officer. The officer was shot and later succumbed to his wounds, according to Gov. Matt Bevin’s office.
Area agencies are seeking James DeCoursey, 35, who is believed to be armed and operating a white Chevrolet pickup truck. Anyone seeing DeCoursey or the truck is urged to call law enforcement.
